Guess what? We're all caught up! The task this week was a group effort (25 Random Things) and it has been completed by your peers and submitted by me! As long as you have remained active you will earn SB for this task. Although, we wish that next time you'd contribute a little more to the effort, sheesh. LOL

The Mixer task ended last week and SB were awarded yesterday! Marietta came in close to the top, and therefore earned $150 SB for each active branch member!!! Way to go!

SB payouts for past tasks are now all caught up, so check the Stats section to see who's been winning! Then, PM them and ask them their secret so you can win next time!!!

I can't think of anything else to talk about. It's a relatively quiet week, now that so many tasks are through and paid out! Always remember to earn your Affinity SB each week, that's a free $100 SB in your virtual pocket just for posting comments or messages or forum topics, or updating your DMI profile! How awesome is that?

I want to take a moment to say, please don't message me or comment me [right off the bat] asking how to complete a task, or why something in the task does not work -- (1) often, I don't know the answer myself yet, and (2) it can sometimes take me a while to get to your message. You will be MUCH better off asking your question in the "Official Task Thread" in either our Marietta subforum, or in the main Tasks forum [because there's more people reading it that may be able to answer sooner]. Please direct all your initial questions there, after reading the task description and the official threads, because I'm getting a lot of questions that are already answered somewhere. Thank you so much!

The tasks can be frustrating sometimes, I know... but I didn't make them up and I don't know how to fix the glitches. I'm just the messenger!!! :)

TASKS
Task 2.21 (Golden Ticket) is a fun way to earn a 10% discount in the Desk Item Store... the first part was a quiz, which gave you "clicks" (the quiz portion is now over) that you can use on different branch pages tofind Golden Tickets. 50 out of 100 branches have winning tickets. Once youfind 10 tickets you'll get a 10% discount!!!

Several issues have come out of this task... First, the quiz portion has already ended so if you didn't log in by Monday you're out of luck. Second, no SB are awarded for any portion of this task. Third, Corporate never told anyone that the discount apparently will be applied after the clicking deadline. If you want to complain about any of this, or if you spent all your SB thinking the discount would be applied when you checked out, please email corporate at hr@dundermifflininfinity.com. I cannot get your money back for you!

Task 2.20 (Mixer) is complete but no results are out yet and no SB have been awarded yet. Please stay tuned for the winners announcement from Corporate!

Task 2.19 (Create a Task) is in the final stages of voting, so please head on over to the voting page and make your voice heard!

Hello Big Chickens! I hope the first month of the new year has been good to you.

If you haven't logged on lately, we've had some crazy stuff going on around the office... last week we had a DUEL between Dwight and Andy, then this past Friday we had another branch steal our client list... but this week we recovered it, so all is well in the Big Chicken universe once again!

"Steal the Client List (Take Two)" wrapped up yesterday when out last few required members found the list. This was a really fun task and showed how well we work together as a team. Even when many had found the list they continued to help others find it! Great job... and if you didn't get the 50 SB bonus, as long as you are an active member you'll get the 200 SB on Friday!

I hope your Thanksgiving was fabulous, and that you ate waaaaaaay too much food. It's that time of year to let your waistband loose!!!

Congratulations to jacynoelle and bsteele175, our EOTW and EOTM, respectively. I'm sorry that it took so long to award you (I was out of town for the holiday)... but hey, you still get the certificates, right? :) Great job to both of you!

No task for this week, as most of you probably know by now. :( But I'm sure this coming Thursday we'll get a nice one.

Don't forget to vote for JAM's living room design. It looks like the generic entries were a big hit, so from now on any photoshop-type tasks will have a link to a generic entry (within 48 hours) at the top of the official task thread. I love to see people getting into the tasks, but I know very well how real life can sometimes get in the way, so I like the idea of providing an out for those who don't have the time or resources.

Nominations for EOTW have begun to fall off; don't forget that I need all of you to watch out for employees who are contributing. Even if they've won in past months they can still be nominated. Please also provide a reason for nominating them. I depend on all of us to work together to make this branch great; and positive reinforcement is a great tool :)

As for laid off employees, that's continuing on a regular basis. Our numbers have started to level off, with roughly the same number of new employees as those going inactive. The difference is these new employees are excited to be a part of the game, and we need to keep them that way!

We've fallen to 30th or so in the Average SB/employee stats. This is mildly disappointing as I was hoping for a jump once the purges began, but it looks like the purges helps other branches even more than ours. And that's okay. My main focus is keeping our branch members happy and involved to the extent they can. Remember at the beginning of the season I put up a poll that asked for your individual and team goals, and finishing high in the rankings was not a priority -- participation was.

My *most important* INDIVIDUAL goal is to...
- earn as many SB as possible [50.00%]
- hang out in the forums and meet other Office fans [11.54%]
- play the games and tasks for fun, when I have time [38.46%]

My *most important* TEAM goal is for our branch to...
- finish in the top 10 Average SB [38.46%]
- have a high participation rate [50.00%]
- hang out together in the forums [11.54%]

So keeping up participation begins with YOU! Earning your SB for the week and encouring others to do the same. Having fun in the forums, playing the games and starting the fun threads, chatting with your coworkers and enjoying all that DMI has to offer! This site is more about hanging out with other Office fans than anything else -- and let's not lose sight of this!

I realize many of you are not only new to Marietta but are new to Dunder Mifflin Infinity, so I wrote this step-by-step guide to get you started on the website. A lot more info is available in the Employee Manual, and of course I am always here to help!

Hello Big Chickens! This is a long but important message, please read thoroughly!

Let me just say once again how excited I am that you are a part of the Marietta team... this year is going to ROCK! Our branch has exploded in growth over the last week and I fully expect it to jump again once the new season of The Office begins next week! (OMG only one week away!!!!!!!!!)

First off, I want to emphasize the importance of the forums. Not only are they the most awesome hang-out spot, but also a big part of the game. It's where we discuss tasks, SchruteBucks, The Office, branch ideas, bobbleheads, game strategy, Big Chickens... You get the idea. Part of the fun of this game is to interact and get to know other avid Office fans, and the best way is through the forums. Also, they are the best and most fun way to earn 100SB per week! You get 5SB each time you post in a thread, up to 100 a week, which you can then use to buy cool stuff for your desk, or for one of the many friends you made while posting in the forums!

Secondly, I am announcing the formation of official Marietta Committees to improve the quality of the game for everyone and give you the chance to participate more intimately with our branch. Here are the committees and a brief description. If you would like to be on a committee, please send me a Forum or Profile Message [or email rm@dundermifflinmarietta.com, and include your DMI username]. Only active and truly interested players need respond. I need people that can commit to helping for the majority of the game. Once the committees are formed each will choose a Committee Chair, which will be my main contact for information about the committee's dealings.

And finally, I want to emphasize that we are all here to have a good time! Real life will get in the way sometimes, I know, but please check in at least once a week or you'll miss out on the fun. Please also remember that this is ultimately a game, so be respectful of each other and of the rest of the branches. Mud slinging by any one of my branch members will not be tolerated and the offending party will be forced to eat 10 buckets of tasty chicken in 5 minutes or less or will be officially warned on the forums, whichever I feel like doing.
